KALIA’S “KITCHEN WORLD” FEATURES CUSTOM AND SEMI-CUSTOM CABINETS

What does Kalia consider the difference between a semi-custom cabinet or a fully-custom cabinet selection? Both of our custom and semi-custom cabinet lines are made to order, which means that neither is a boilerplate stock item-both take time to produce. In manufacturing lead times, our semi-custom cabinets such as Marsh/High Point take two weeks in build, whereas our Mid Continent Cabinets line takes three weeks to produce. For our custom cabinet lines, the time to produce custom cabinets will depend on the availability of the cabinet maker. This could range anywhere between 3 to 10 weeks.

Both types of built-ins will be fully-assembled. Semi-custom cabinets can be ordered in three-inch increments, which provides a great deal of flexibility. Custom cabinets can be produced based on one-inch increments and are much more expensive than semi-custom cabinets. Another major difference between custom and semi-custom cabients is that most semi-custom cabinets are produced at a factory in a controlled environment using a multi-step process. This regulated process gives the finish more longevity than a standard hand finish. At Kalia, we recommend choosing semi-custom cabinetry because it provides a cost-effective option without sacrificing the flexibility you need.
